A note from….Brian K. Buhlke, D.O., FAAFP

You have heard the facts: 80 to 90 percent of lung cancer deaths are due to smoking, and smokers are six times more likely to suffer heart attacks than nonsmokers. Smoking is the cause of more than 480,000 deaths in the United States each year. And you probably know by now that quitting smoking can help save your life.

Smoking not only harms you, it harms those around you. Children raised in a household with a smoker experience more ear infections, colds, bronchitis, and problems with breathing than children in non-smoking families.
