Friday Feb. 2 marked the 20th day of this legislative session meaning we are already one-third of the way through our 60-day session. We have a lot left to do.
People sometimes wonder why a particular bill they are interested in never makes it to the floor for debate. The reason is since there is never enough time to get to all the bills advanced out of the committees, certain bills are designated as “priority” bills. Priority bills are moved to the head of the line, so to speak, and are taken up ahead of other bills. If a bill is not given priority status, it has a slim chance of being debated, especially in the later part of a session.
