Central City Bison, Mitchell Carlson, runs for a touchdown during a regular season game.

There will be a little history – hopefully for the Bison faithful a lot of history – made Friday night at Bison Field as Central City hosts its first playoff football game since 1989.
Central City (8-1), seeded No. 5 in Class C-1, will host Broken Bow (8-1) in a game scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. The last time Central City hosted a playoff game was 1989, when the Bison played Class B football and ended up beating Aurora for the second time that season.
This will be the first time Central City and Broken Bow have faced each other since 2003, when the Indians won a 36-14 decision. Broken Bow holds at 3-2 edge in the all-time series, with Central City’s only wins coming in 1925 (18-0) and 1942 (7-6).
