It sounds like an advertisement for a store advertisement but it’s actually the theme for the Meiner/McHargue family reunion held last weekend in Central City. It has been at least 15 years since the entire family has been together for their Christmas, so it was decided to move the holiday in December, to the Fourth of July Weekend for several reasons. Traveling in December can be a nightmare on slick, snow covered roads, while there is no worry of that during July. Family members traveled from all over, including Minnesota, Florida and Michigan. 32 members of the family were able to attend for the Christmas in July. Christmas music was played, lights were strung and even a tree with presents underneath could be found.
